With the COP26 UN Climate Change Conference in Glasgow beginning today, we wanted to share some of the musings and questions our students asked the State Secretary at the UN Press Conference for Children this past week. Why has there never been a woman general secretary still after 76 years of the UN? Will Slovakia fulfill its SDG's, and will it be bold in Glasgow? Can the UN save the planet?... Could we have laws that disable fossil-fueled cars and speed up ones that are ecological? Factories and cars are making the air dirty, how can we make the streets around schools cleaner? Can Slovakia welcome more refugees? Will the UN give incentives to help reduce meat consumption? Will the embassies lead by example and go zero waste? How can the UN stop Covid? How valuable it is to have children's voices present in the discourse! We encourage others to take the opportunity to celebrate children’s voices and make this UN press conference for children a regular endeavour!
